Oh. And sorry guys, no Complete Review this week :/ Too much craziness in the Magness house. I had to clean my butt off these past few days under the close watch of Hitler, aka my mother.

On a not so happy note, I recieved this comment today...
"I'm from MRUBC. I'd never have the courage to tell you it on there, so I have to say it here, 'cause I really need to get it out. I'm sorry if this upsets you in any way, but I really need to say this. Yeh, you've been overall finalist since cycle 9. Yeh, your name appears straight away in google results. You think if Catherine Hardwicke checks out the site, you'll be her first choice. You are all over mrubc. Personally, I don't agree with the way Kat does that. But that's between me and Kat. Am I jealous? No. Heck, I'm only on the site for fun. Last thing I want is to be in the movie. But this video/rant pushed me to do this. Why? Because all the way through this rant you carry an air: YOU. It has to be YOU who gets picked by Catherine Hardwicke. It will be YOU because everyone is inferior to you. Everyone comment on more vids, because if CH thinks the site is a joke, who will be going down? YOU. YOU need to take yourself down a bit. If you don't realise this, I'm telling you now, that you're upsetting a few members. Because mrubc is all about Lauren Magness. No-one else has a chance in hell of becoming an 'overall finalist'. But yet again, that's between me and Kat. Personally, just take yourself down a peg or 2. It's good that you're doing thse reviews, but you need to stop being so up yourself. There, I've said it. Lyl."
So. I for sure responded to that, and you can see my response in the comments of the "Rant" post on this blog, and I basically said that I know that I'm self centered. Yo. So. I was a'thinkin'...we all have those things that we've always wanted to say to people, whether they're nice or not so nice, and I am, officially giving you all an invitation to tell me whatever it is you've always wanted to tell me, something that bothers you about me, something that you've always thought of me, etc. I don't know if this breaks Kat's TOS, but if it does, I'll just delete this part of this post. So yes. Be as mean and rude as you'd like.
THINGS I AM AWARE OF:
I am self centered.
I am not the world's greatest singer or actress although I enjoy pretending to be so.
I have a large nose.

I've always wanted to tell you that even though you ARE a little overconfident, I've always admired you because you are so sure of yourself; not the conceited way, but the...sure way. I'm never sure of what I want or even who I am, and I admire that you are. I wish I had your confidence in myself and in others. You're someone who, honestly, I could easily dislike because of your confidence, but I don't, because it seems warranted, and because you're aware of it, and because you are always nice to people and don't have any preconceived notions of them. You take people how they are, and that's something I really value in people.

No, I do not think of you as the best Max on the site/in the world.
For me, I think you could be so much better if your reallyreally tried to humble yourself. It would show through on your videos, and would make you even more likable and appeasing to the audience. Confidence and arrogance are two completely different things - you seem to be heading more towards confidence nowadays, though :)
BUT there is still room for improvement.
The beef I guess I have with you is that you think if anyone on the site should be in the movie, it should be you. Yes, what you said about Hollywood being a "dog-eat-dog world" is true, but it is only that way because the people in it made it that way. What Hollywood needs is a new generation of actors who really care about people in general, and don't want to screw them over.
For instance, say there was a scenario where you got to decide between being in the movie and having a few lines, versus someone from the site having a huge role like Max or Fang. Which one would you choose?
Naturally, people would choose their self-glory, but when you really think about it...
Also, say you did get the part of Max. Would you give credit to Kat/the site? Would you remember us "little people"?
You are so gorgeous, but I don't really agree with what you say about you looking like Max. I mean, obviously people have different perceptions about her, but that's just my two cents.
I also love the idea of this blog. This whole thing is making me like you a lot more.

2. its awsome that you acknowledge it. people can be blind to it and so, as i say, with ignorance may come arrogance.
3. you are confident in your self, and persistant and although your mabe not first choice people are blind to that because you dont see your self as anything else. its good. its a hard tactic to master. "see in your self what you want others to see in you"
4. you help people i believe, not because you believe your self to be the best but because others ask for your help and opinions. and you dont denie them your assistance. cool beans. peeps look up to you

KAT: ok this is a just a suggestion cuz you said youd like solutions to probs people bring up. well, you cant do anything about the voting. thats the peeps choice. but you can do something about the banner. (im not blameing you for anything, dont take it the wrong way plz just hear me out) ok, usualy we have the winners of the contests on the banners. and although thats great,it can cause a problem. for example, Mags here has been the poster child for max on the banner for a while, so peeps might get jealous or not so happy with seeing her there. we may be able to change that. We can start having banners with the people who lost the contest, with the people who have improved over time. that takes away the "its all about the winners" feeling and it makes the rest of the site happy. makes others feel good about them selves to be seen on the front page.
7. KAT: ok yes i know your buisy so another solution to a future problem (if you chose to do the above) is: have people make thier oun banner. have them post it on a blog made espacialy for THAT. then, (to take some more weaight off those shoulders) the last day of every month have a friend whose completely out of MRUBC chose which one THEY like best of the ones that have been posted(never post the same one twice unless there arent enough banners)that way people cant say your playing the favorites card ya know? so realy all you have to do is ask a friend to take a look at the banners. you dont have to make them, or chose them, and its less of a head ache for you (pluss you have a new fresh banner each month)
8. PlEASE tell me what you think of this idea kat (sorry for getting off topic on your post Mags)

Thanks for reminding me about the banner - I keep forgetting to make a new one! I do agree with you on that. However, I cannot have others make banners because a. the site will be misrepresented and b. size formatting issues. But again, thanks for reminding me. I'll try to have a new one up this week that's neutral. It's just been an issue of time for me.

MRUBC does not relove around Lauren Magness, for 2 reasons. 1: We vote. 2: Maddie was Overall finalst for a cycle, and very close to winning it again, during the tie breaker. Don't let this both you. Why you are VERY active, and why sometimes I think maybe there are times you take action when Kat should, you are a person who makes this site great, and an insperation to me persoanly, becuase of you're acting, singing, and well, photosgraphy skills. I'm not going to get into all of the personal stuff, but what mostly bothers me is that your blog is featured on the site's main page. I mean, I feel like if any other member started such a thing, it wouldn't be featured on the home page above Kat's own blog like yours is. Not your fault, but if anyone came to look at the site, I think they would automatically think favoritism, which we all know pretty much leads straight to unprofessionalism. And I don't think taking the link off would hurt your blog. You're active enough and everyone on the site knows you and wants your reviews, so I'm sure it would have no effect. But what do I know, I could be wrong. Haha

ReplyDeleteI do feature other members, by the way. I set up a page just for that earlier, which is something I've been meaning to do for about a month. It is under the "My Page" subtab menu.
And my next step will be to either make the main page white or to just delete the site, because I am unbelievably sick of all the shit I get for every little thing I try to do. I'm a Network Creator trying to keep and reward active members, and I can't do it if I have no breathing room. Just saying.
Yes Kat, you do feature everyone equally. And I feel that everyone needs to cut you slack, and lay off, because a lot of stuff that I see and hear is complaining. (I do realize i'm not 100% inncoent here.) We all need to work together and get this site right, because really, Kat is paying for a chance to get us into Hollywood, not to fight and argue on how is on the front page.
