Lauren Magness' Complete Acting Review: Sarah D.

This is my first complete acting review for someone! Yay! :D Okay. I'm starting off with one of my favorite people who I've never met--Sarah.

This portion of the post is before I've rewatched her videos. Right now, I can't recall any negatives about her performance that I want to critique. What I recall from watching her videos in the past is that she's totally real when performing and her auditions are completely believable. As I said in one of my previous posts, she's probably one of the best actresses on the site, and she could totally beat me out for Max if she wanted to.

I plan on rewatching a lot, if not all, of her videos, then giving her positives, negatives, and ways to fix the negatives. In my complete reviews, I plan on being 100% honest, no fluff to hide my opinions, so don't hate me for "hatin'" on anyone.

Now for some video watching!

Video number one: My first impression from her introduction is that she's completely adorable, and totally fit to play Ella--she's got a timid voice, but you can tell that she could be louder. After watching, I don't think this is the best she can do. I was a little dissapointed--if you were really gushing over a guy, you'd talk faster, like you're rambling, at least in my opinion. The ending was also a little scripted.

Video number two: This was short, but good. Much much much more believable than the last.

Video number three: It just gets more and more believable each time. One thing I noticed in this was that facial expressions were a little lacking, and when I say a little, I mean a very very very tiny bit. Like, I'm hesitant to even post this because if you went too far, it would be overdone and fake. It may have also just been the fact that you kept looking at the camera after looking away. But I'm not sure.

Video number four: Ella's about to get beat up, BE MORE FRIGHTENED. Like, not like, "Ahh! I'm scared!" But like, I can imagine, you've got thoughts running thorough your head, you're trying to stand up for what is right...but at the same time, they've got a gun. So yo.

(I skipped quite a few.)

Video number five: I LOVED the sarcasm in this. Loved it. But same comment as above applies here.

And...that's all I'm going to do for now. I'll add more later as I feel like it, but overall, Sarah is FABULOUS, and I stand by what I said at the beginning. One thing I would say is that she holds back in her voice at times, and I'd like to see her totally scream something, or just be loud. But that's really all the suggestion I have for now. Love you, girlie :)

  1. Thanks!! This is super helpful. I have to work on the voice...it's weird, because I'm a very loud person normally, but it doesn't come out in my videos. So I shall work on that! Thanks so much!!! :)
